School Announcements Field Day Field Day is this TOMORROW, THURSDAY, May 17. Here are the FIELD DAY TIMES.
SESSION I -- 8:30 - 11:00 AM: KINDER, 1ST GRADE AND 1/2 OF 2ND GRADE (Light, Inwood & Fletcher) SESSION II -- 11:35 - 2:00 PM: 1/2 of 2nd GRADE (Gifford, Jones & Reynolds), 3rd GRADE AND 4TH GRADE GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS FOR FIELD DAY -
Parents - you may come and watch your child participate in the activities of the day. Keep in mind if you are doing this that you will need to go through the office and sign in and get a visitor sticker. College Spirit Day - Friday, May 18 
On May 18th, Dodd will have “College Spirit Day”. Teachers and students are invited to wear any college jersey or T shirt to school that day. On display will be a showcase of where our Dodd staff earned their degrees and what degrees were earned. As a district, we’d like to focus on college readiness even for our elementary students as we begin to have conversations about what it takes to be accepted to college and what kind of jobs require a college education or beyond. Our hope is that our students’ knowledge of our state or national colleges and universities will begin to extend beyond information about their athletic teams. Our goal is to provide understanding of the importance of education and goal setting as it relates to our students’ futures in a fun way.
Dodd's Got Talent!  Come and see the amazing talents of the 4th graders Friday, May 25 starting at 7:30 a.m. (in place of DinoBeat) There will be singing, dancing and acting, so you don't want to miss this! Principal's Club Trip to Amazing Jakes The Principal's club trip will be on Friday, May 25 to Amazing Jakes Plano from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students who have made the Principal's club two (2) six week grading periods for the year are eligible to attend. Permission slips and invites will be sent home on Monday, May 21. They must be returned to the office by Thursday, May 24. Memorial Day - School Holiday School will be closed on Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day. Classes resume on Tuesday, May 29.
